Why Do My Brows Feel Fried After Brow Lamination?

If your brows feel dry, crispy, stiff, or unusually rough after brow lamination, your brow hairs may have been overprocessed or may need more conditioning and aftercare.

Brow lamination works by temporarily changing the structure of the brow hair so the hairs become easier to redirect into a new position. Because this is a chemical process, timing, application, hair condition, and aftercare all matter.

What should laminated brows feel like?

Your brows should not need to feel crispy to look laminated.

Once your initial aftercare period is complete, the hairs should still be brushable and styleable. Lamination is designed to make unruly brow hairs easier to manipulate, helping create a fuller, more uniform appearance.

Red flag: Your brows suddenly feel extremely dry or brittle

This can be a sign that the hair has experienced too much chemical processing.

More processing does not mean a better lamination. Fine or porous brow hairs can respond differently from thick, coarse hairs, which is why following the processing instructions for your specific product is important.

Brow care matters after lamination

Think about your brows the same way you think about chemically treated hair.

Once the first 24 hours have passed, conditioning and hydrating your brows should become part of your routine. Brush them gently and use an appropriate brow serum or oil to help keep the hairs conditioned.

At Elevate Brows, we believe the conversation should go beyond getting fuller looking brows today. Brow care is about taking care of the hairs you want to keep looking full and healthy long term.
